Swindon Top of the Pops - sort of

Swindon has so many cultural and arts activities on offer, so it was great to hear that the town has been named 13th best musical town/city in a survey by the Performing Rights Society.
Top of the list, beating London, Manchester and Liverpool, was our neighbour Bristol, which has generated more musicians relative to its size of population that any other city in Britain.
Director of Swindon Music Service Peter Clark said he was not surprised about Swindon's position in the survey. “This is no surprise to me as music both in schools and in the local community is very strong. The Local Authority Music Service has worked hard over the last three years to develop and sustain quality music provision as well as creating a wider participation. By this, those who wish to be given the opportunity for formal and informal music-making opportunities get the chance to do so.”
