Cemeteries and Crematorium

These pages not only include information about the Kingsdown Crematorium and Cemetery, and the Whitworth Road and Radnor Street Cemeteries, but lots of information regarding the sad event of death.

In the Bereavement and Funerals pages there is information on dealing with bereavement, registering a death, funeral arrangements and embalming.

There are also pages about Tradition and Beliefs and Making a Will.

The Burial pages include Whitworth Road, Kingsdown and Radnor Street Cemeteries, with information on their history, and maps showing the sections in detail.

The Cremation pages include information on Kingstown Crematorium, Questions and Answers about Cremation and their Code of Practice.

The memorialisation pages have information on special benches and trees that are available for those wishing to remember people in a special way.

Important update:

Plot markers

Please note that as from the 1st January 2010, the courtesy service of marking out plots, which has been completed by staff on a voluntary basis will be discontinued.

Maps, with instructions, and ‘measuring sticks’ have been provided for those wishing to find the exact location of a plot.

Please accept our apologies but the demand for plots to be marked has now far exceeded the time staff can commit away from their legal duties.

However, staff will be happy to assist anyone who is unsure of the instructions provided in the Lawn of Remembrance.

Please follow the links to the right.
