Adult Social Care

Adult Social Care

Adult Social care includes the teams and service providers who support older people; adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and mental health needs; and their carers.

Adult Social care in Swindon is organised into two main service areas delivered by the council:

  • Older people and adults with physical disabilities
  • Adults with learning disabilities

Services for adults with mental health needs and needs associated with substance misuse are delivered in partnership with health through the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership. These services are organised into three sections:

  • The Mental Health Team for adults of working age
  • The Department of Old Age Psychiatry (DOAP)
  • Swindon Drug and Alcohol Team
