Description of Service

Inspection and repair of damaged drains, inspection covers and their frames on all public highways, including:

• Roads and highways
• Cycleways
• Backways.
• Pavements and footpaths

Service Levels

Please note that not all drains, inspection covers and frames are the responsibility of Swindon Borough Council. Whenever a problem is reported however, one of Swindon Borough Council’s Highway Inspectors will visit the site to establish the ownership of the item and arrange for it to be made safe as appropriate.

How to Report a Problem

If you consider the issue an emergency or potential hazard, please call Swindon Direct on 01793 445501 (Monday to Friday 8.00am-8.00pm, Saturday 9.00am-1.00pm) or on 01793 466453 at all other times.
