Smokefree Homes: Fire SafetyWhat if someone smokes at home?
Did you know that more people die in fires directly linked to smoking than any other? Nationally, fires started by cigarettes and related smoking materials account for one third of all accidental deaths, while only causing 8% of all fires.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Do you have a routine before you go to bed?
- Do you have an action plan of what to do i fyou
have a fire?
- Do you dispose of cigarette butts etc safely?
- Do you own a smoke detector?
- If you do when, was the last time you tested it?
